Construction Economists of America had very humble beginnings. Organized in Canada in the early 70's and incorporated in New York in 1979, we recognized a need for specialized estimating and construction monitoring services for Banks that were providng mortgages on large real estate projects. Construction Economists of America provided that service.
Noting that this service was largely provided by "Architects and Consulting Engineers", CEA became one of the few firms that specialized in the economic side of construction. The overwhelming majority of business was with Banks.
In 2006, Lou Giardino became President and CEO. Under his leadership, Construction Economists of America emerged with a new brand, CEA International. With that brand came a renewed commitment to becoming a leader in "3rd Party Oversight" of Real Estate interests for Lenders, Developers, Government, Institutions, and Not for Profit Organizations.
